Christmas is almost here, and once again I need to muck out the back room so my Mom has somewhere to sleep when she comes over. Since the rest of the year it's the room where we shove everything that doesn't have a place, things get wild.

It's still snowing in Seattle, and ordinarily I love it but I'm a little worried about getting my Mom here if it keeps up. 

I'm finding weird things as I clean up, things I didn't remember I had. Like the metal loopy thing that spins on a plastic hoop and looks like a bubble when it goes really fast. When did I get that? I kind of think it might be something Payne gave us? Or maybe not, it also looks like the kind of thing I used to buy from American Science and Surplus. The World may Never Know.

I really should clean up more often--and once I'm done uploading, I will!

I bought my mom these things that go on her shoes so she can walk in the ice and snow. Gonna hafta drive up there in a couple days... Oh boy snow?!

I recall my ex getting some of those. There's a bunch of different varieties. The kind she got are basically springs that get wrapped around the bottom of the shoe. They worked fairly well and were reasonably easy to put on and take off. They did not make her so stable that she was able to keep me from falling on snow and ice, but that's at least partially because I'm fairly sure-footed, partially because I'm significantly bigger than her, and partially because EDS means she'd probably hurt herself if I fell and she tried to catch me. So far, that last has only come into play to the extent that it's given me more motivation to not slip and fall around her. I use the past tense because I'm not sure where they are and if they're still in working order. Since the start of the pandemic, she's more or less avoided going out in snow at all, which is even better for avoiding falling on ice and snow.
