Those trees in the beginning of the movie are called Redwood trees and they grow in Northern California and southern Oregon which is the state above California. They are beautiful forests and the trees do get pretty massive, and Star Wars Return of the Jedi was also filmed in those forests. If I would suggest anywhere to go on vacation in California, it would be these forests.

Don! Sometimes, the animations that play during the first batch of credits tell a short story as well. In this one, it showed how the pilot (Caesar's neighbour that got coughed on by the scientist) boarded a plane and the yellow dot that showed up was depicting the spread of the virus around the globe. Shame you missed it but, as you said, it's pretty much obvious at the beginning of the second film of this trilogy. W reaction, mate, keep 'em coming!

A monkey and an ape are not the same thing. They are closely related like a lion and a housecat might be, but still very different. We humans, along with gorillas, orangutans, chimps, and bonobos are apes and more closely related, but we are farther from the group of monkeys, which also diversifies into Old World and New World monkeys..

with this franchise, i think that the 1st movie is solid, obviously Caeser gets contaminated with 112 and creates an evolution for the apes. Imagine though, if the second movie was about a different ape, maybe called khan (named after a different and most famous conquer), that was contaminated with 113 and educated a band of apes, or co-contaminated, who had their own hard life, maybe an even harder life, and had their own story. The third movie could have been about the different families of apes being in tention, meeting each other could have been extraordinary. The way I picture it would have been the 113 apes underestimating the 112 apes (caesars band), 112 are relentless and 113 aren't the most humble, making a great battle between the two evolutions of apes. The 112 apes show 113 that they're just as intellectual and they start to ally and respect or trust one another.
