"Awkward silences"? People don't voice every thought or opinion out loud as if there is an audience watching them. She was reacting as a normal person would, with small sounds under her breath as a response. You been watching too much anime, lol. This show is based on an old video game franchise, where the Belmont family spends generations fighting and hunting mosters, with Dracula being the worst of all.

Lisa didn't ask Dracula to travel so he would end up like a man. She knows he still must kill humans to feed. She wanted him to travel the world to understand the trials and struggles humans face because he had been secluded for so long. She wanted him to understand why a human might think a certain way so he would be able to talk to her like an equal, understand why she cares about the things she does, like being a doctor and helping others. He could understand her wanting to better herself, but he didn't really care if the people of the world had a doctor like her, so she had to convince him it would be worth it.
