Here's the first Youtube video for the podcast available on Anchor, which covers some of the themes and overall thinking behind the Atlas Altera project. It's a little rough around the edges, and you might notice that we were a little liberal in the movements of our limbs during the recording (a few audio bumps here and there), but we can only get better from here! The video has captions, which I've gone through and edited.

Also, I've replaced my microphone and I'll begin recording again with my friend Tristan tonight. We're back on schedule!

Tired of learning geography and history in an uninspired world? Atlas Altera is a creative exercise that repaints the world while going hardcore on real geography, anthropology, linguistics, and history. In this first episode, we introduce the map and discuss the general themes and overall thinking behind the project. Other topics covered: Visible Speech as an international phonetic alphabet, Plains Sign Language as a non-verbal global lingua franca, the 2020 Neowise comet, alternate geography and climate considerations, the Kerguelen Plateau, an Australian inland sea, the relationship between toponyms and exonyms, and more!
