Alright, before the month ends I wanted to get out one more progress report.

As expected, the beach environment was such a pain. When you're making an outdoor environment, you either find ways to hide the horizon line...or you need to model like 18 million different things to make it look sufficiently fleshed out. The only exception to this is if you're looking out at the ocean, which needs nothing. And fortunately, the ocean is half of a beach scene.

But still, the other half is NOT ocean, and thus presented some challenges. I cut a lot of corners in order to make something functional.

Here's an overview of the main stuff. We have a volleyball net, some lounge chairs with umbrellas, and most importantly, rocks. I also made a little storefront (currently out of frame), but we'll see if I end up using it.

The Kelly PoV animation happens behind that top-left rock that's in the ocean.

I was able to use the forest to hide the horizon in the camping scenes. For the beach, I'm instead relying on rock cliff walls (which I wanted in the scene anyway, because certain clandestine activities are going to require rocks and such to hide behind). At certain camera angles, such as the sample shot up above, I think it works nicely.
Still a huge pain in the ass, though. This is why I didn't bother with backgrounds for most the story.

With close camera shots, I don't think I'll need to worry about depicting any other people at the beach. I'll describe people as being there, but that's probably all.

In addition to the beach, I finished the bikini designs this month and got some basic sprites set up, as shown up above.
Had hoped to be further along with the beach scenes in general, but hey, the environment was by far the most daunting part of it, and now we get into more of the fun stuff. As always, thanks so much for your support! Back to it. ~💕🎶
