AHHHH i’m so excited to watch. i missed neve too but i’m glad sidney’s getting a break. i think it makes sense to go with a new gen as well. it’s hard for me to do rankings (besides the original always being at number one) but i think it would go: scream scream vi scream 4 scream (2022)/scream 5 scream 2 scream 3

SO happy you finally got to see this one, I've been dying for your reaction. My ranking would be Scream 1 (A): The OG, broke all the rules, changed the entire genre of horror, just basically perfect from start to finish. Scream 4 (A-): A bit of bias here for me as it was the first horror movie I ever saw in theaters and it came out when I was a teenager getting into horror so it's my generation's Scream but I think it has the best killer in the franchise with Jill, some of the most brutal kills and was ahead of its time in so many ways: the social media and clout chasing and in just predicting and subverting a lot of the tropes Hollywood relies on now. It was the anti-requel before the requel was even a thing. (So happy it's ranked second for you too, it gets a LOT of hate online, so I'm always happy when people give it the credit it's due). Scream 2 (A-): A really fun, solid sequel with some great chases/set pieces and an awesome killer in Mrs. Loomis. I just don't find it as ambitious as 4 because the commentary here feels a little basic to me i.e. "Can sequels be better than the original? YES." And like it's true but that all you got? So not the most ambitious but still a great time. Scream 6: (B+/B) Probably the most fast-paced of any Scream movie and I think that really works in its favor, this movie flies by in the best way. I was happy we got more time with our new characters that 5 didn't allow as much (I now love the Core 4 as much as the OG Trio), great chases and set pieces and a fun new location. This one is messier IMO, there are a lot of logistical things here that don't make sense, the killers are some of the weakest in my opinion and the commentary isn't the sharpest but it's just so much fun I don't even care. Scream 5: (B/B-) Really enjoyable but plays it a bit too safe IMO. It feels too beholden to the original without being its own thing, which only stands out more when you compare it to 6 which I felt was definitely these new director's movie instead of emulating Wes Craven. I also feel like it suffers in comparison to 4 because 4 was able to satirize remakes while still feeling very much like its own movie. That said, it's still a lot of fun. I really like the killer's motive calling out toxic fandom, it's a solid passing of the torch and it tweaks the requel formula in subtle ways that I really appreciated (Dewey's death allowing for growth in the Sidney/Gale dynamic). Scream 3: (C+/C) We all know, really troubled production here. Lackluster kills, commentary, set pieces, killer, pretty much everything. I don't think it's as bad as some people think it is (Scream at its weakest is still way better than a lot of other horror franchises at their worst) but it'll always be ranked last for me.

idk why some people put s6 over s2 or say s6 was different lol same relative motive, same college storyline, ghostface following them to college, core 4 surviving from scream 5 (which is basivally s1) i can go on why scream5 and scream 6 are like remakes of scream 1 and 2. I've only seen a few people agree w me on this

nice

ohhh let me get some snacks

I honestly love all the movies, most of them are remakes anyway. I guess it’s the whole point of the franchise, remakes and sequels. You also can’t deny the talent of Melisa(Sam), Jenna (Tara), The original girl Gale Weathers (Courtney), all the other characters like Chad and Mindy and of course Sidney and Dewey.

The acting was so good in this film, especially from Melisa and Jenna. I really think Jenna will be one of Hollywood's biggest stars in the future. I can't wait to see what projects she does in the future. It is sad that Neve couldn't be in this film but I am at least glad that we got Courtney. I miss Dewey though. Here is my ranking: 1. Scream (1996) 2. Scream 6 3. Scream 2 4. Scream (2022) 5. Scream 4 6. Scream 3

the others arent really remakes considering s3 is one killer and the others have different motives, s1 bf/friend, s2 ex bf mother/friend, s3 brother, s4 cousin/friend, s5 (repeating= bf/friend), s6 (repeating= ex bf father, sister, brother) This movie is literally s2 with the killers having relative motive like billy's mother. Three killers is the only difference. S5 bf of the main character and friend in the group, like scream 1. Idk I think tara, chad and mindy are the best characters in the new franchise. Sam has an interesting story but i just dont like her acting personally (i prefer killer side of her acting). I do hope sam gets to be a killer cuz that is what kept my eyes glued to her aka melissa. I think she pulls off the crazy killer more than the misunderstood role. I'd love to see more of that w her. I personally think s1-4 are all different in my opinion, different motives. Like another small detail involving the similarties of s6 and s2 is sam has a new boyfriend like sidney, both are sus but prove at the end they arent the killer. Core 4 surviving their first movie franchise aka s5 chad (dewey), mindey (randy), tara (gale), sam (sideny). Idk me personally im seeing the repeats as an OG scream fan, i want something refreshing, you can make the same concept and be able to change it up, i think theyn are running outnof ideas

finally got around to watching your reaction! (had to go buy snacks first lol) i loved the movie, it was so much more violent than the last 5 which i really liked. i'm so sad Neve wasn't here, because something i personally felt was off about the movie for me was the Sidney-sized hole, but it was still really good! i also wish there was more Gale, because i just love Courtney so much. Jenna and Melissa are doing amazing as Tara and Sam, and i've grown to love them both a lot. but when it comes to Sam, i am just so in awe of her. she really interests me, and every time she takes out Ghostface, she is just so badass. especially the scene where she makes fun of Richie, like i was screaming at how cool she is. i also don't really like Tara and Chad together though... maybe that'll change, but i don't know. i'm also liking the core four a lot, their chemistry is great! so cool to see Hayden back as Kirby, i hope she returns for Scream 7 as well. also, i felt that Anika's death was kinda predictable (she's queer in a horror movie) but it still got me. the acting in that scene was so sad, i couldn't help but tear up. all in all, a great movie! can't wait for Scream 7 😱! as for my ranking : 1. Scream (1996) 2. Scream 4 3. Scream (2022) 4. Scream 6 5. Scream 2 6. Scream 3 and by no means do i hate any of the Screams, i love them all, just some a tiny bit more than others lol

oh and one more thing, i'm not sure if you noticed, but Jason (the Ghostface who killed the professor at the start) is played by the actor who plays Flash in the MCU Spider-Man movies! also the blonde professor during the opening kill is Samara Weaving, she's known for her horror movies, especially "Ready Or Not (2019)". she is also known for the horror-comedy "The Babysitter" on Netflix and it's sequel "The Babysitter : Killer Queen" which also has Jenna Ortega in it! i'd love if you reacted to both of those if you wanted to! ♡

I recommend Before I Fall is a very good movie with such complex and human characters. And also makes you reflect about how we get older we change yourselfs to fit in on grups or change to fit in society archetypes.

My ranking: Scream (1996) Scream 5 (2022) Scream 6 (2023) Scream 2 (1997) Scream 4 (2011) Screma 3 (2000)

I think for me it is: 1, 6, 5, 4, 2, 3. Y actually enjoy 3 more than 2 because of Parker Posey, I think but, as a whole, I recognize 2 is a better horror film.

Totally agree. I do think they needs to think of new ideas. But I still love this movie either way. At least it wasn't a direct copy of Scream 2 because we would have lost Chad or MIndy just like Randy and I would be really upset if either of them died. I also loved the whole New York setting in the movie, the deaths felt fitting for where they were. For example Anika's death and Mindy's almost death, was shot in a way that put me on the edge of my seat. I have an interest in Movie Production, so that is probably why. I was so worried for both MIndy and Anika in those scenes.
