I found what Shelby said extremely unforgivable, but yet still i forgave her 😂IDKY I love her character so much, has so much depth. Even in the things she says "I love everyone, even if they don't deserve" is exactly what her dad said in this episode. I genuinely don't believe she has any hate in her heart, she's just scared... AND DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH TONI!!!

Shelby's dad said so many bad things but the comment that I found the most insidious was what he aimed at her but hid it behind talking about the gay man Kyle. The dad said that Kyle would be all alone (if he gave into who he is) because they (the parents and the church community) would not accept him. So, I THINK that he is threatening to disown her if she does not suppress who she is. So, of course she reacts the way she does b/c she is desperate to not lose her family. That would be sooo scary. (Although what she said to Becca wasn't necessary - she was soo nice. Even after all that Shelby said to her - she didn't turn her back on her. She said "I see you. I will never judge you" wow)

i think shelby has one of the most powerful story out of the 8 of them it made me cry

What Shelby said to Becca was awful and she did not deserve it. But in a really horrible and messed up way, it makes sense. I mean, she'd just UNINTENTIONALLY outed her to her homophobic parents and so she was terrified. Plus, in a way, she represented her problems. She liked her as more than a friend, in her mind she probably thought that if Becca wasn't her friend anymore the feelings would stop and she could go back to pretending. Unfortunately, she took it way too far and it ended with her killing herself. But like I said about Fatin with sending out her Dad's nudes, they're KIDS. They do fucked up shit and make mistakes, they say and do things they don't mean or that hurt people they don't want to hurt. Also, just realising that a few episodes Toni said to her "I see you" and Shelby looked upset by that. Now, that could've been fear of her finding out she's gay, but it's also likely she was thinking about the fact that that was basically the last thing Becca said to her before she died... :'(
