I probably mentioned this before (mad-as-heck, if I remember) but The Hospital written by Chayefsky is fantastic. Its proto-Network, but about medicine instead of media. If Network is film-heroin...The Hospital is pure-cut methadone. (Diana Rigg in Dunaway's "role"!)

One of my all-time favorite movies and absolutely my favorite screenplay ever. The sex scene with Diana and Max is one of my favorites in any movie because it sums up Diana so perfectly. Literally the only thing that gets her going is her work (as she told him on their first date) and poor Max might as well be a pair of AA batteries.
