This is what I'd expect from an episode Battlestar Galactica! This show weaves difficult issues into its story better than just about any other show. It’s always intriguing to see see this issues play out in such desperate situations. Although there was ONE moment that made me more angry than just about anything in the show so far.

The entire series is great at inserting subtle subtext of principle vs pragmatism into the narrative, but Dirty Hands is where it takes center stage and forces viewers to examine their own slants and biases, for better or for worse. The ability to do that is what separates entertainment from art.

Adama wouldn't have threatened Cally if it were just about the Tylium Refinery striking, it's only because of Galactica's crew participating. It's harsh, but that can not happen, there are no strikes in the military. Especially during a time of war. Orders can never be optional, so I do understand.
