I finally finished editing Andor! I'll be releasing my reaction to episodes 4-12 to YouTube in a few weeks, and this video contains 7-12. (Watch 4-6 HERE if you missed it.)

Being a super cut of reactions vs weekly I did cut out a lot of the post episode commentaries, as it's a rather long video and most people just want to watch the reaction anyhow.

Also, if I'm being honest I was pretty harsh in some of my initial critiques and I rewatching as I edited I didn't agree with all of it. You can watch my full commentaries on the full length if you'd like.

Although I almost want to apologize to anyone who watched episode 12 because while I stand by my complaint about the out of tune music (it really made my skin crawl, even in editing, like nails on a chalkboard) my comments were super annoying and a type of prolonged complaining that I typically like to avoid lol. I limited it in the edit to a single comment.

Overall, I really really loved the show and I'm excited to share my reaction.

Enjoy!

In the meantime, you can also revisit the first three on YOUTUBE or if you missed the full length reactions to these episodes they can be found HERE.

There are many reasons to cheer for SAG going on strike, and a big one for me is that it looked for a while like Andor's second season might have had to be made with a bunch of first draft scripts. It was bad enough that production realities are forcing the crew to cram all their plans for the rest of the story into this one season, and that would have killed it completely after this first season is the best thing Star Wars has ever done (yeah, I know what I said).

Wait wasn't it always supposed to be 2 seasons? And has that changed? I still have some minor issues with the show, and it's definitely a different brand of Star Wars. But at least it is overall cohesive and GOOD. Hopefully, we get more of that in the future.

They started out with a plan for four seasons, but the first took so long with all the location shooting that it became clear doing all that would require everyone devoting a decade plus of their lives, so they decided to just do one more of just the most important story points, and we've already been warned Season 2 is going to have several big time jumps to catch up to Rogue One at the end.

Haven’t seen the reaction yet but the music note is interesting bc I don’t hear it so the scene is perfect for me. I do wonder if this is a case of band/on the street tuning not having to conform to absolute pitch but relative/what they think of as good enough pitch, making it more authentic

I don't know. I kind of thought before editing that it might have been in my head. The soundtrack sounds fine, and I can't find any conversation online, but when I was editing it was the same. It physically bothers me, I don't really know why. 😭
