Can we just talk about the performance Jamie Lee Curtis brought here? So funny. This film is literally absurd, but dang it knows how to entertain. A true action comedy and I for one enjoyed the comedy far more than the action.

Unrelated, internet speed in the new place is INSANE, This upload would have taken close to 2 hours before and I was paying extra for a speed boost. Here I'm paying for standard and it just cranked it out in 10 minutes. 😳 Difference between country and city?

This is one of those movies that I want to wholeheartedly love. The first and third acts are totally smashing stuff, some of the best pure fun action you'll ever see. But then there's the way it completely dies in the middle as it forgets about the whole terrorist story and we're instead asked to laugh at a government agent abusing his authority to stalk and mentally torment his wife. And to make it even more uncomfortable, not only has it since come out that several government people have actually done this kind of thing, but it doesn't take much of a leap to imagine that this whole segment is Cameron taking revenge on Linda Hamilton for divorcing him (and taking the Terminator rights with her, to which she'd later put the third film into production specifically to piss him off, so there's clearly some very bad feelings all around there, though it seems they did at least some patching up later on given the existence of Dark Fate).

Or…..you could just accept it for what it is—an entertaining goofball of a movie that doesn’t take itself seriously so why should the audience? Jamie Lee obviously didn’t find it objectionable or she wouldn’t have taken the role. There are plenty of real-life issues to object to—I don’t think we need to dwell so much on 30 year old action comedies. My opinion, of course.

I completely agree with you, Ryan. I always thought this was an incredibly overrated movie. It just never worked for me.
