Is it worth it for that train sequence alone? Yes. Yes, it is. A thrilling conclusion to one of the most notable trilogies ever made.

May they never try to remake this. Amen.

It’s immediately noticeable how much more confident the storytelling is here, rather than how the second film’s story had to be knocked together as basically a big tap dance leading to the third. It’s also very impressive how after the gag of Michael J. Fox playing both of Marty’s kids briefly, here Seamus sticks around in a sizable role and he truly makes them feel like different people. As a kid, I had no idea they were the same actor, and I first saw this film shortly after The Nutty Professor had taught me to be on the lookout for that. And after going through the whole trilogy several times, I very much appreciate that by the end, the Delorean has picked up mementos from every time period it’s been to: replacement circuitry from the ‘50s, Mr. Fusion, and the rail wheels.

I love this movie! My favorite of the trilogy! I also love that it's essentially Doc's movie and story.
