This is childhood magic. A true childlike adventure story dripping with meaning, emotion, and fun! Oh and nostalgia. This was my favorite movie when I was a kid and it was so much fun revisiting it as an adult.

One thing the movie could have done better is putting more emphasis on how the magic of Neverland makes you gradually forget your previous life. A lot of people over the years have hated Jack for how easily Hook turns him against his father, especially his accusing Peter of not even trying to save him despite Peter fighting his fear of heights to climb the mast, and that could have done a lot to help explain it. Oh, and after all the "evil lawyer" jokes in this movie, guess what Jack's actor Charlie Korsmo grew up to be?

So...an alternate path:
1. Maggie Smith is in Hook and Gosford Park.

2. Charles Dance is in Gosford Park and For Your Eyes Only.

3. Desmond Llewelyn (Q) is in For Your Eyes Only and From Russia With Love.

4. Vladek Sheybal is in From Russia With Love and The 🍎.

Ryan, I put it to you for a 3 step...
I mean Maggie Smith and Charles Dance must have both been in sumthin with either Joss Ackland or Miriam Margolyes, right?

Agreed! The only other two kind of odd things to me... Peter heard his mom planning his whole life and ran away as a baby? Run that back for me? 😅 And the Tink story line where she's in love with peter... mixed feelings because on one hand I feel for her. On the other hand, who does she think she is kissing him and telling him she'll always love him at the end? I guess fairies jist don't understand the things you should do with (say to) a married man.

Tink being in love with him is at least straight from the original story. Speaking of, one other thing I definitely wished for watching it again is a larger role for Moira. Wendy's granddaughter marries Peter Pan, and somehow they couldn't think of anything to actually do with that? It's not even clear if she knows it's him.

Dance and Ackland were in a now forgotten film called White Mischief that I had to look up on Wikipedia. Apparently it's not very good, which is a shame because it's based on a fascinating true story that's also not well known.

Razor connect, Ryan! I never heard of it. From the director of The Postman and 1984. Also has John Hurt and Hugh Grant to be another quick solution.
Move looks...well...curious, I guess. Like a second tier Graham Greene thang. Hmmm.

I'll also point out the one thing I've actually seen Ackland in besides Lethal Weapon 2 is a miniseries of the Discworld novel Hogfather, which has quite a few notable names (though unfortunately not Christopher Lee, who only took over the role of Death after this one despite being the obvious perfect choice).
