Honestly, I felt this was a great film, but I did struggle to connect with this one. It's full of great moments and a heart breaking ending. Some of those moments pulled me in a little, but on the whole, it never completely clicked with me.

*This was originally public, but received a copyright claim after it was published, I actually just deleted the raw files this morning. At any rate, considering the lackluster response and the fact I didn't really "get the film" I decided to just unlist the reaction from the public. I left it here for patrons if you'd like to see it.

In the 60's-70's Hollywood produced a bunch of experimental, nigh-improvised dramas. One Flew Over being a prime example (MASH, 5 Easy Pieces, Easy Rider, Putney Swope, etc). <p>"Brechtian Realism" (which is a contradiction), I guess they could be called?</p><p>They don't operate the way that Story tends to especially in a Movie, and there's a disconnect because of that. Tbf, I'm just not smart enough to understand/explain it, really. Any of y'all...I'm struggling here...have a clearer perspective?</p>

Take back Putney Swope from that. It's Beckett-absurd, not Brechtian-realism.
