I came face to face with the predator and survived! This was more of an adventure feeling than I expected, and I'm glad for it! Had a great time watching an imperfect movie.

"These guys all in some giant pissing contest?"
T'would seem, kind sir, that you are unfamiliar with '80's scifi, action, drama, karate, romcom, documentary, or cartoons. 'cause: yep, they are.

And now a word about politics! Let me make it very clear that I'm only mentioning on - the - record facts and intend no offence to anyone. This was the only action sci fi movie to star two future US State Governors. Sonny Landham (who played Billy) also ran for Governor of Kentucky but was not successful. In 2008 he also ran for Mitch McConnell's US Senate seat. During that campaign he made some comments in the media that were widely seen as a little bit racist. The alien was originally played by Jean-Claude Van Damme but he was replaced for being obviously tiny compared to his buff costars. "I aint got time to bleed!" is a line said by Jesse Ventura. It is also the title of his autobiography concerning his adventures in Vietnam. In his military service he was a UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) frogman. This job had one of the most physically demanding selection courses in the US military, that at the time was shared by the SEALs. Later the UDT role was combined with the SEALs and by courtesy all of the previous UDT graduates were allowed to casually describe their service as having been with the SEALs. Unfortunately Mr Ventura took it a bit too far. In his book he explicitly claimed that he had been a member of SEAL Team 1 in Vietnam. This was not true and he had no Special Warfare or commando training. He was publically called out on this by a veteran SEAL officer and apologised. The Russian officer was played by Sven-Ole Thorson, who you might recognise as the guy spared outside the club in "John Wick" or as Jay and Silent Bob's security guard nemesis in "Mallrats"

Whoa! I never would have picked this movie as such a ripe source of future governors. Absolutely fascinating. Ain’t got time to bleed is actually a killer book title for the subject matter.
