Bush pilots are unseen backbone of the Odraani Paktum. Even with large space freighters hauling billion tons of cargo,  jump gates connecting distant star systems and space elevators bringing goods on the surface, distributing them to the scattered settlements is a difficult task.

Counter-gravity devices are huge and expensive, making them not worthy for small scale use. Old fashioned sky cranes are favoured for the efficiency and roughness. Thousands of different types and variants are in service, each specially designed for the world it will be operating on.
