A Promise Best Left Unkept V0.9.6 - Tipsy (5$) tier (Patreon)

Before posting the release note, I just want to point out that this release was a bit bumpy for the higher tiers. There were a few bugs, and I think now everything is fixed. If you encounter any error though, please either reach out privately or write on the Discord. Also, I'm posting a guide for the bonus at the bottom. At first, I thought it would be fine to not give too many hints, but I realized quickly that people were very confused. Just don't read the guide at the end of this post if you don't want spoilers. Hi, everyone. I hope you're all doing great. This was kind of a work-heavy update for me. I know I had a month more to prepare, but I still think I kinda went overboard with it. Mainly because I had an idea in mind and I didn't want to do half-measures. This probably won't happen again. Or if does, I'll have to prepare better. Because right now, I don't know if I'll be able to keep up in the next couple of months because I don't have enough CGs in backup for the future release.

Now, before I give the length of V0.9.6 update, I just want to specify something. The ending for Aya's path is around the same length as any other update (21k~ words) and it features around the same number of CG (6) too. The bonus which is unrelated to that ending adds up to what the final numbers are.

So with that in mind, V0.9.6 is around 53k words in length, adds 13 CG sets and 8 sex scenes. It also concludes Aya's path. Now, you might be wondering 'what is the bonus?' Well, I won't tell you! Not now, at least… You could probably figure it out on your own, but just to make sure, do listen to the commentary at the end of the path in order to have a better understanding of what's been added. I'll probably give my thoughts on both Aya's ending and the bonus next month… I've struggled a lot with it.

All in all, I'm very nervous about this update. This isn't something I usually do. But that just ended up being that way. The bonus was planned since the first ending, by the way, for those who might think I added it in reaction to something else. But I was on the fence about it too. I decided to do it mainly because I feel like it would give a more complete experience to the story. If this ends up being a complete miss… well, let's talk then.

Another thing, I changed a bit my website. Now I only have one server (no more backup). And I also coded a hub where people can see everything (almost) related to their tiers in one place. I'll probably improve it when I know it doesn't blow into my face. Which is one of the reasons why the update is released a bit early. I'm testing this 'hub' thing. So do keep in mind that you might have a hard time downloading the game. Just keep me informed of any downtime or problems with the download.

Story

Now from here on out, there will be spoilers, so don't read if you haven't played Aya's ending yet.

For the bonuses, I thought I was clear about how to reach them, but I guess it left some of you confused. That's my bad. I don't really like spoiling things, but it only ended up making it harder for you guys.

The bonus consists of 4 new endings. Those endings are only unlocked when you've reached Aya's ending and seen her chibi version (cute, by the way). The new endings are versions of old endings (specifically Normal, Clumsy, Fallen and Abrupt), but with Aya still being there. She usually give up on Harry at the end, but that's because Harry never gives her a chance.

The new endings all follow the same pattern. You follow the choice you would usually follow for those respective endings (Normal, Clumsy, Fallen and Abrupt), but instead of ignoring Aya, you don't. So you must absolutely go with Aya at the cafeteria, hug her, and stay with her at the movie theater. That something you need to do in all the new endings. BUT you cannot follow her when she storms out of the conference room during the Luca Proposal scene. Doing so will lock you in her path (which you just finished).

But since there are no new content before the starts of said endings, you can choose the new endings in the Ending Selection menu. The new endings will have appeared when you've finished her ending in her path. They are all called 'Aya'.
