One title we bring up this week that isn't readily available in a decent copy is His Bitter Half, a classic tale of greed and probably the best cartoon Tedd Pierce wrote solo. A screening patron once lamented to me, "Why didn't they run this one to death on TV?" This unrestored but clean SD copy comes by way of patron Devon Baxter, ripped from the extras of West Point Story with Doris Day (whom we talked about a bit on this week's episode).

Mayhaps I'll do a commentary on this one. I do apologize to the $10+ patrons for the lack of commentaries, by the way. We do have some written up, but have to record and edit them. That will be slightly easier now, as your Patreon dollars bought Bob a microphone set-up so he can now get to work on ones he's been dying to do since Warners cheaped out and refused to record him for the first two Popeye sets back in the day. Stay tuned!

Oh, this is a GREAT one! One little thing I've loved for years is Carl Stalling's bitterly sarcastic use of "Every Day I Love You Just a Little Bit More" at the beginning.

A few things that grabbed me: The extravagant ripples of water as Daffy skedaddles to answer the want-ad. Junior’s firetruck skidding sideways to a halt. The shooting gallery background, shabby and lonely in late afternoon.
