One of the issues with doing this podcast about classic animation is sometimes running into cartoons that aren't readily available, or at least not available in good condition. We intend to remedy that by offering hard-to-find cartoons through the Patreon when we can. To start things off, here's an HD transfer of this week's highlighted cartoon, Rabbit Every Monday, taken from my own 35mm IB Technicolor print. Other than some dirt and the issue of a missing end title (I replaced it with one from the "restored" Blu-Rays), I think this looks pretty ready for primetime as is. Download and watch it, and get ready to hear Bob and I discuss it Monday!

This is awesome! Now in addition to the podcast, we can look forward to occasional clean prints of classic cartoons that need them. Thanks, and I look forward to this Monday's show!

This cartoon always seemed like a bit of a throwback to me. It's a straight up hunting story with no twist (like the duck season/rabbit season trilogy) and most of the gags could have been in a late 1930s short. Granted, the timing and animation is much better here, but it doesn't quite feel like an early 1950s release. Also I'm not sure if you're aware but a version of this print was uploaded to YouTube, albeit with a window box and an inane commentary track. I don't know if the he requested permission but it still seems a bit rich to make Patreon only content avaliable publicly. Suffice to say, the podcast is far more insightful and entertaining than his take.

There's Friz Freleng's genius for staging action, yet again.

The live action footage at the end comes from Romance On The High Seas (the very last shot of the film).
