I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I actually super love this as a season opener! It's very much a stark contrast with the doom and gloom/high stakes nature of the season 6 opener (and finale), which puts you on edge the whole time. "it's too normal, what's going to happen?!?!" and sets us up nicely for that final scene with spike and the past villains!

I may have it mixed up with another episode, but I think the woman at the beginning was actually one of SMG's stunt women.

SpikesEcho

Hmmm, I don't recognize her as one of SMGs stunt women, but maybe I don't know all of them

Ron Fehr

I just recall that from one of the dvd commentaries, but I forgot which one.

Henrik Holst

She was A stunt woman, not one of SMG's stunt women. The DVD commentary is: DS> Let's talk about this girl. Don't you love her? JW> I don't know! I never met her. DS> Oh, she's just great. She's actually just a – I shouldn't say 'just' – she is a stuntwoman. We were looking for an actress to cast and she came in. She did such a great job and she was very good at all this acting scared stuff and we thought… I just loved her.

Ron Fehr

Sadly, I had to get rid of my dvd's, so I didn't recall the whole commentary. Thank you Henrick for reminding me.

Listen...this episode is boring as hell. However, I will say that this season has some of the best scenes to ever grace my television, so lots of good things to come! Also, Spike with roots!! That poor man's head.

Greg Davis (YT-nobody you need to know)

This is my personal favorite season. I’ve watched it the most. My favorite scene out of the ENTIRE series is in this season, as well. I can’t wait until it comes up. 😍

Terri

So...this episode seems boring from your perspective because you are watching it for the first time. However, it has a TON of easter eggs for the rest of the season. If you go back and watch this at the end of the season...a lot more will make sense. So yes, on the surface it's boring. However, I love it for all the foreshadowing it does. Nearly every line...such as things with Willow or Spike...means something in the end.

Brandon Thomas

The ending is one of my favorite scenes in all 7 seasons.

Danielle Murphy

oh shiiiiit! we here! i personally love this season. the writing is fucking phenomenal. im so excited for you

Willow learning about Gaia, when she was part of the Wicca group, daughters of Gaia, back in season 4, and being part of the coven is more of her redemption after the destruction she caused in s6, learning more about her power and being more responsible with it now that she knows what she’s capable of

If you become a guidance counselor, make sure to put up your “what would Buffy do?” Sign in the front 😂😂

Ron Fehr

At least now she was with a group that was serious about magic. The college Wicca group didn't really understand what their group should be about.

Corey

This isn't my favorite season but don't worry, it sticks the fucking landing :)

Finally I'm at a point where I can't spoil Alley, as I don't remember much of what happens other than a few key moments at the end of the season. However, don't mistake this as me calling the season forgettable in a bad way, I actually remember really liking it. I just can't remember why. Also, I'd forgotten how awesome Robin was. He shines brightly in this episode.

An joss whedon ended episode like that to let fans know it was the last season of show . I listen to the DVD commentary so it's not me making this up . He actually said that himself .
