6x16: "Hell's Bells"

Next: Angel 3x15 on Sat 7/30

--> okay SO... funny story.. I sat down to make today's video and clicked "6x16" instead of the 6x15 episode to watch and did not realize my mistake until AFTER I was already done with the episode 😀 haha.... yeah lmaooo

so you guys can watch both of these episodes one of two ways, just the normal way, 6x15 then 6x16

OR if you wanna see how I saw it:

- watch 6x16 Hell's Bell's all the way through until I realize my mistake and stop it (00:46:49)

- watch the entire 6x15 As You Were video

- come back and finish 6x16 Hell's Bells starting around 00:46:49 for the review of that episode

I really wasn't sure how to edit these because it was kinda all over the place, so I decided to just try and edit like I normally would, but if you would like to go on that insane journey of watching the wedding episode and THEN the one where Riley comes back... there u go! haha

So yeah this of course is what I watched first, and GAH DAMN.. having to go back and see their preperations for the wedding that DOESNT EVEN HAPPEN?? ABSOLUTE TORTURE!! UGH, this episode broke my heart, this was such an emotionally draining day from both episodes back to back 😭

XANDER PLS COME BACK I BEG OF YOU... AND YOU TOO ANYA DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING TO BECOME A DEMON AGAIN!!!

goodness.... I need to rest after this episode, it fr knocked me OUT with ALLL the emotions.

anywhoooooo, hope all enjoy! and sorry again about all the confusion haha

old comment I know but your comment is hostile for no reason. People seem to like to forget (because it's cool to hate Xander) that he's just as deeply troubled as the rest of the cast. he comes from a broken home and is constantly playing second fiddle to his superpowered friends. that's the reason he gets a job, arranges a marriage etc... he wants to BE somebody and he feels his only worth is by being ingrained in this societal standard. however in this episode he realises what he's doing is wrong and that he's gonna end up like his father and push himself into a corner. it's not like he decides "oh well I'm not actually gonna get married", he literally spends the rest of the show remorseful towards Anya (who as the commenter above put, is literally a murderer). it's like everybody looks deeper into the other characters to excuse their actions, but when it's Xander everybody wants to jump on the hate train.

Hell's Bells always kills me. So I'm going to use this watch order mess up as an excuse just to watch episode 15 and skip 16.

I’ve been a subscriber for a while. But can someone tell me joke to join the discord?

Watching the wrong episode is easily done and quickly forgivable. Using Comic Sans, on the other hand...

You know how In your s5 wrap up you mentioned how you could see Xander and Anya going away to Vegas and getting hitched then just coming back and telling everyone about it ? Well that’s what they should have done and we wouldn’t of gotten this heartbreaking episode

Rhi

The rest of this season is amazing!!! All great episodes

Steveo

To each their own, I heavily disagree though!

Ron Fehr

I don't recall offhand what each episode is about, there are some good ones.

Cory Garron

For a good 5-8 years this episode was about anger and disappointment towards Xander. But now it's more about empathy for Anya, instead. I don't know that it's a more positive take, but it certainly feels less negative. Perhaps I've grown.

Rhi

Basically just chaos from here on in

Well, there are definitely worse episodes to mix up the viewing order on. At least it wasn't like 'Wrecked' before 'Smashed' or something, but that's still unfortunate.

"Are we getting a wedding episode? I'll cry!" Joss Whedon: Yes, you will.

Something that is so easily forgotten is that Buffy, Xander, Willow, Tara, etc they're what 21? 22 years old? They are making HUGE decisions, going through a lot of personal baggage at a very young age. I was never angered at Xander for his decision--sure, I wish he picked a MUCH better time, but, I understand his dilemma. The guy is 21 years old

Jaren

I just realized there’s no reaction tomorrow. 😥

Jim Greer

I have always hated Xander and never more so than this episode for what he does to Anya , he's a coward . If he was never in the show again I would have been very happy .

Val

Totally team Anya on this. Xander couldn't even stay around to deal with all the guests and just left it all to Anya? WTF?

2023-03-25 16:16:05 Been thinking about this a lot & it seems to me that Anya spent 1100+ years torturing & murdering people in the name of vengeance & shows virtually no remorse for any of that. Maybe she had a bit of karma coming, no ?
