3x14: "Couplet"

Next: Buffy 6x15 on Sat 7/23

sooo side note: for some reason, the file I had squished the episode into 4:3 (i truly dont know how i didnt realize all the character were squished lmao, i blame my stupidity) so of course I didnt realize the mistake till my mods pointed it out. so yeah, thats why i am like "why is this 4:3???" lmao, it is all fixed for you guys, but on my end, thats why i may make a few comments on the dimension :)

alsooo: very very sorry for the beeping of the fire alarm.. i thought you couldnt hear it but someone with better hearing than me said they can, so i apologize about that </3 i will remember to get batteries before the next episode haha


BROOOOO ANGEL REALLY GOT ME CRYING IN THE CLUB RN... ;-; BRO- that end scene with Cordy and Angel, him listing off things he wants Cordy to do THAT HE CANT DO WITH HER... ENOUGH!!! I SAID ENOUGH

AND THEN!!!! we find out the stupid prophecy and the one person Angel DOES have he is destined to KILL???? hey AtS, try the #StopHurtingAngelChallenge <3 k thx!

oh my godddd those last few scenes were a lot lmaoo. But in all, this episode I thought was very fun! Got to give Groo a lil makeover so now he looks straight out of a 2000's boy band, got to talk a LOT about Cordy's sex life, and of course, how could I forget.. the catfishing tree that sucks the life out of cheaters (an icon truly).

I just can't bring myself to care for the Gunn/Fred relationship. Maybe it's because I never pictured Gunn as the romantic type. He was built up to be seen as the muscle of the group, and this doesn't suit his personality in my opinion.

I'll just set in on your chest for you so you're ready when the game starts. *Wes polishes his glasses* Angel: Here, I'll go ahead and select Subzero for you. Alright, first match. Come on son, its like you're not even trying. HA, I totally killed you. Don't worry, you'll get better with practice. Gunn walks in: Finally found someone you could beat, huh. Wes: Phew, that's one prophecy out of the way.

On the other note I never saw the chemistry with Wes and Fred. Oh they're both smart nerds, clearly they MUST be together. It felt forced.

True, but given the choice, possibly for sentimental reasons, I would opt for Wes. Although opting out of the romance angle may have been a better choice.

Angel at end with Cordy saying, "Didn't hurt a bit," while we see a literal hole on his chest, as if his heart was ripped out, always hits me. And thier relationship might be the most natural, organic growth overtime, so always rooting for them.

This episode has one of my all time favorite buffyverse characters, “Petty Angel”. I just love it. David just cracks me up when he’s doing the petty, jealous stuff.

I'm also a bigger than average fan of this episode. It swings back and forth from wholesome to comical to melancholy like 20 times, but I think that jumbled tone really works in its favor and allows for that final shot to really pack a punch. And the relationship stuff would get tiresome if it were all just one thing, so they kept you on your feet the whole time. I honestly can't tell if this episode is ultimately sex positive or not though. Metaphors about women "losing a part of themselves" by having sex, but also there's a prophylactic for that metaphor? A lot to unpack.

This one is fun. Petty Angel is amazing. And even though the Grooselag is clearly a Cangel obstacle, he’s just so earnest and delightful I can’t help but love him. And now it’s prophecy time … 😬

If you think about it, Cordy and Groo never actually knew each other for very long. Once the gang arrived in Pylea, the following events occurred happened within a matter of only a few days. So in a way, their relationship seems a little rushed, which to me is the same with Fred and Gunn. Perhaps that's why it's hard to ship those couples.

Yeah, I hate when the 'romantic rival' is written as a complete dick, because then the choice is too obvious. Cordy has a choice of two great men, that's way more interesting!
