NEW PERK: 2008-2019 Player Cards and Timelines (Patreon)

It's finally here! Historic player cards are now live for you to access and enjoy.

This new set of over 8000 player cards includes every player to play more than 200 minutes in a season from 2007-08 to 2018-19. You can see how players from before expected goals were created would have profiled back then and re-live some of the more regrettable signings and trades of the past thirteen seasons.

These cards work the same way as the current ones do, with the added factor that instead of just selecting a player, you also select the season you would like to view. You do this the same way you choose which player you would like to look at: by typing it into the dropdown menu pictured here:

A bonus included in here are Projected WAR timelines for all forwards and defencemen. This is a little bit different from other timelines that I've posted on here because instead of showing single-season results it shows how that Projected WAR % (the three-season weighted number that appears on the top of the player cards) changed over time. This allows for a broader perspective on how a player's career has progressed in the 08-21 window. 

So what's next? A couple things.

• Tweaked current player cards using the 1.1 version of Patrick's WAR model (which includes slight adjustments)
• Adding historical players and maybe even teams to the WAR Roster Builder

But the big one is a website. I'm in the process of building a website that will host all of the Tableau visualizations in one place, including many new ones, which will be published by the start of the 2021-22 season - aiming for September.
