NEW PERK: 2021 Wins Above Replacement Visualizations (Patreon)

We're almost there - 2021 Player Cards are almost ready to go. As I prepare them, I thought I would share the 2021 WAR Data that they're built on in the form that I posted them on Twitter on Sunday.

This sheet contains five dashboards showing 2020-21 Wins Above Replacement Data, filterable by position, player, team, division, and time on ice. This includes:

1. Total Wins Above Replacement 

The full deal. Early enough that it is still very vulnerable to fluctuations in individual shooting performance, and should especially not be used for defencemen. 

2. Shooting-Adjusted Wins Above Replacement

A version of WAR that removes the goal scoring component. This would make it less prone to early-season puck luck and should be the value you care about for defencemen especially.

3. Even Strength Offence Wins Above Replacement

The value a player provides to their team through the generation of scoring chances when they're on the ice.

4. Even Strength Defence Wins Above Replacement

The value a player provides to their team through the prevention of scoring chances against when they're on the ice.

Lets you see how the values combine to make up a player's full Wins Above Replacement
