L + Dingbat (Patreon)

Yeah this suggestion came in and I just couldn't resist lmao. I was thinking about the pirate version, I even recorded it, but I'm glad I held off actually putting it together because I love me doing this one so much more. It wasn't specifically requested as Goon but I couldn't hear it any other way. I thought about using Malone for it instead since it almost feels even more within his character, but I was like well, Goon is really funny, and probably a bit more recognizable to most people, very memeable guy, just felt right, so I really wanted to do it as him. Plus it's not like he isn't constantly throwing stupid ass insults at you all the time anyway, so it still fits him well enough. Then while recording I just kinda thought of the dumb addition of Malone saying + Ratio and I felt like it was funny enough to keep in, especially with the addition of Goon not knowing what that is and being cut off, that's where I REALLY came to love this one.

I don't really often like to do posts based on characters I voice officially, especially if there's a low chance anybody has heard of them (ULTRAKILL is pretty popular so I don't have to worry about it there), but I felt like the good thing about Goon and this setting and the joke and everything, was that someone doesn't need to know anything about Fallen Aces for the theme and the message and the joke to get across. You can see the guy, and the environment, and hear how he talks and maybe hear the music and see the writing and go "Oh the joke is that it's the L + Ratio thing but with this setting instead". At least, that's what I hope anyway. I think it's pretty apparent. Plus, having put "Break Time" on the channel before, I would suppose enough of the YouTube audience might be familiar with Goon for it to be fine either way.
