Trigger Treat Enemies: Gashley (Patreon)

Don't let yourself be fooled by her innocent demeanor! Gashley is the embodiment of the collective vengeful spirit of the Graveyard level, which is mainly populated by various skeletons. Even though she's only a miniboss, she might be the biggest of all the bosses we'd planned, and as a result was another we considered switching with her previously-designed superior Arizona. The jointed nature of a skeleton made me want to try animating her modularly, and I'm fairly satisfied with the result personally. Her eyes were a lot of fun to mess with. I'd already decided I wanted to pay homage to Stephen Gammell's illustration for Is Something Wrong, but while trying to make her look more weathered I totally stumbled across the idea of forming "eyelashes" out of cracks in her skull completely by accident.
