Happy October everybody! To celebrate my favorite month, I'm going to go ahead and start spilling the beans on all the work I finished for Trigger Treat years ago. After drawing so many monsters, it'd be tragic not to show them off! I'm gonna show an enemy for every day this month leading up to Halloween, so let's start with the boss of the first area we planned, which as you guys would have seen in our gameplay teaser, presiding over the Pumpkin Patch. The biggest inspiration I was drawing from for the game was Smash TV, so I was excited to give the bosses gnarly battle damage. As you guys will see of course, the in-game art for our first whack at Trigger Treat leaves a lot to be desired in comparison, but I think you'll be happy to see how we plan to fix that on our second try!

As for what I had completed as of now however, DD had given me full reign over the enemy designs in the game, so I had a blast just drawing cool monsters. The candle in a jack-o-lantern is a feature I find doesn't get used too often so I liked the idea that the pumpkin was only a shell for the true enemy, a ghostly wax creature. This first boss was stationary so as to be less difficult, and would have attempted to corner the player with vines to keep them from being able to dodge its fireball patterns.
