Pokémon Red and Blue: Is It Still Good?

Pokémon turns 25 this year! In honor of this milestone, Tama takes a look back at where Pokemon as a franchise all began, with the release of Pokemon Red and Blue on the GameBoy in 1996. Tama asks the question that no one dares to: is it still good? These games have a bit of a bad wrap with Pokemon fans two decades on, but do they really deserve it? Well, we need to take an excruciating deep dive to find out! Is Charizard as good as you remember it? Is Blastoise? What's the deal with Mewtwo? Did you know video descriptions need to be really long these days? Excellent work, well worth the wait. As someone who has probably spent too long thinking about the lore of Pokemon, the segment on how your player's age in this game reflects how they see the world is fascinating. Back when I first played Red, I was the perfect age to be in the player's shoes and I think remembering that it's a child's journey improves the story.

So glad that you're bad, and it's another solid analysis. Glad that I'm still supporting you. Keep it up.
