In a personal take I do enjoy a bit of rough drawings more simply because of the texture being more natural. It is very hard to remove the guidelines from the drawings and still keep the texture, but in the very cases where I was successful it is more than worth it.

Very good insight, yes I like to make rough drawings from time to time too for what you mention, sometimes I even leave the guidelines for that same reason
