Did not expect to enjoy this more than Godzilla but here we are!

Had a fully stacked cast too and now super excited for the King of monsters!

I don’t think he’s ready for King of Monsters 👀

I was thinking after the last film that I actually didn't know that this film series existed. I think I had seen the old Godzilla and Peter Jackson Kong and thought that was the Monsterverse lol. I think I liked this film better than Godzilla, had more to it. Though I really loved the teasing of Godzilla way more than they did with Kong here, I think they barely teased him at all. Your supplements at the start will be a great place to put your Amazon Shop in the edit 😂 I agree with the famous people and you don't expect them to die thing. I find it's even worse in some murder mystery shows where the famous person is always the killer and makes it super obvious. Kong accidently went into the Skull Crawlers s*x room there 😳 Good film though with a stacked cast. Really looking forward to see how Kong can possibly fight Godzilla, he's gonna have to learn some Wukong moves lol. Also looking forward to some more CRAZY monsters

This was my favorite of the Monsterverse movies. Equal balance of story and cgi monster fights. You were right about the Apocalypse Now vibes and you definitely need to watch that. It’s more thriller than history.

I still cant wrap my head(s) around how good that movie is.

Definitely loved the non-stop action in this throughout. There is little to no filler. Plus, the amazing soundtrack does a great job of setting up that 1970s Vietnam war era vibe. I don't think there are any monsterverse movies that you won't enjoy honestly. The character development varies in each film, but you'll enjoy nonetheless. Also, I agree with your dad. You need to watch Apocalypse Now. Definitely has similar vibes despite being a very different sort of movie. Edit: I'd also suggest watching Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005) as a separate movie. It doesn't have the same monsterverse vibes at all, but it's just a good remake of an old classic. The 'relationship' between Kong and the girl ["beauty and the beast"] is done with minimal cheese in that one compared to other oldies.

The 3 monsters shown on the cave walls are all classic Godzilla monsters he has fought several times over G's 60+ year history! King Of The Monsters is a real tribute to Godzilla movies. There is an after credit scene but don't skip end credits. There's a lot of info shown through out the end credits. Plus a cool remake of a Godzilla song that charted in the late 60's early 70's by the rock band The Blue Oyster Cult.

First time watching. I really enjoyed this one, more than Godzilla. Great cinematography and CGI! So Casey ("what's a fish" guy) and Loki know each other in this timeline lol. I've seen Peter Jackson's King Kong so kinda expected insects, but oh boy, not ones of this size. 😳 One thing I was confused about is how old cameras work... Like why did Brie (what was her character's name? 😅) need a flashlight to shoot the auroras but not when it was pitch black outside. And how did John Goodman's camera keep taking photos inside the skull-crawler?! Yes to the Transformers series! Can't remember if I watched past the 2nd film (holy Jesus there are now 7 films in the franchise?!), but I really liked the first one and rewatched it many times. Lots of ayo moments!

I fixed my comment about the 3 monsters on the cave slides. I realized just now that I spoiled the names of them. I hope Seb didn't read my comment. I'm sorry if I spoiled anything for any one about the next movie.
