Animal Abuse episode, so sad. Don't even get Appa back after all that. Almost forget just how long he has been away with call backs to all those previous episodes. Is pretty painful though, you can't not think about how in particular a lot of dogs are treated in that way.

This episode won a Genesis Award for its depiction of animal cruelty in circuses 😭, poor Appa has been through so much! Also the Guru you see is the same one Aang was supposed to train with when the monks in the Southern Air Temple were going to send him away to the Eastern Air Temple but then he ran away and got frozen in an iceberg for 100 years, lol this guy waited for him for 100 years...

yeah, remember in the Swamp episode the enlightened fellow Hugh showed Aang how to locate ppl with the tree because we are all "connected." thats how the Guru could help Appa find Aang. same little yellow zig zag light.
