I'm glad I started watching your Star Wars reactions yesterday now 😂

Mario Lopez

Yes can’t wait for you to get into more of the Star Wars universe. 😊☺️

Here's the thing about the prequel trilogy - they get progressively better. Episode I is pretty terrible IMO, but it lays the groundwork so it's a necessary evil. (full disclosure - I would probably like it more if it wasn't for Jar Jar Binks. HATE him!!!) Episode II is much better. It's still not a great film but it does it's job of advancing the story. Now episode III...that movie is spectacular. It pulls everything together and it explains so much. I'm excited to hear what you think after you finish all 3 films.

Etoile2004

Never seen Star Wars but I guess I'll start now!

Jeff Cabrera

Hopefully you don’t have to deal with too much of the toxic section of that fandom 🤞🏽

Davide

This trilogy isn't up to the level of the original one, imo, but it doesn't warrant anywhere near the amount of hatred it got from the a big chunk of Star Wars fans. You haven't watched the whole thing yet, but this movie is the worst of the three, so you can have an idea.

Inhuman Paradox

Oh I disagree. I think Episode II is the worst one by far. Episode 1, as bad as it is, never bored me. Episode 2 put me to sleep. I'll take an entertainingly awful film to a boringly awful one any day. It's the same reason I'll still take Last Jedi over Rise of Skywalker. Plus, Episode 1 didn't have quite the over-done CGI that Episode 2 does. That said, Episode 3 was great. It's by no means perfect and still has some awkwardness, but, I mean, so did the Original Trilogy films (*cough* Ewoks *cough*). Episode 3 still had great visuals, fights, performances, and it had a great dark tone to it. I honestly think it's better than Return of the Jedi, as sacrilegious as some OT purists might think that is.

This is my favorite trilogy from star wars. Yes the acting might be a little off at certain scenes and the cgi might not be the best, eitherway i love the next two movies a lot ecspecially the third one. The amount of critisicm it gets is crazy to me.

"Is that Natalie Portman or Keira Knightley?" 😂 Well technically...it's both Natalie Portman AND Keira Knightley (playing the decoy). HAhaha when you mentioned in your Love Actually video that you usually get confused between the two actresses, I was like "wait until you watch the Phantom Menace!" 😆 Also, when this movie first came out EVERY KID my age wanted to be Darth Maul while I had a big crush on Obi-Wan LOL.

Seb, I'm a megafan for Star Wars and I hate when other fans are overly judgmental. People can like what they like. I was 7 when I saw this in the theater and Jar Jar didn't bother me but in hindsight I can see how he could have. Also, in that fight between Obi-Wan and Maul (which to this day is my favorite lightsaber duel out of all of Star Wars), there's a short video on YT from a documentary where Ewan says the producers felt it actually needed to be slowed down on film because they didn't believe they were actually moving that fast

I think I was around 9 when I saw this film at school. I feel like almost everyone loved Jar Jar back then, but maybe that was just kids. Feels odd that so many seem to hate him so much now. Will have to see what I think as an adult when I rewatch this soon.

David L Pickard

Same. I can for sure see how he would be annoying to adults and was written as a character to appeal to kids, but maybe since I was a kid, it didn't bother me and so even as an adult I don't care as much. Even in Clone Wars they kind of embraced his "clumsiness" as a character and just made he so he accidentally's his way through everything lol.

David L Pickard

Even their own moms couldn't tell them apart when they were in the queen makeup on set! Also, even as a straight guy I think it's fair to say everyone had (or still has) a crush on Obi-Wan hahaha. There was a church that actually used a picture of him from Ep. II as Jesus as a prank

i try to aspire to accept everybody's views. but when people defend the last jedi. i'm taking it personally. i dislike the while sequel trilogy. but i dispice the last jedi. it offends me 😂

Brad Johnson

BTW..there are fan edits of this movie where Jar Jar has been edited out..lol He was not liked by most

I really hope you continue and watch the disney star wars films as well as I think they are just as good as all the rest. I know some reactors just won't even watch them because a lot of terrible fans flood their videos screaming about how much the suck or whatever but for me, two of my top 4 films in the whole series are episodes 7 and 8. Episode 9 is also much better than a lot of the more vocal parts of the internet would lead you to believe. All that just to say I hope you watch all the films and make your own judgements and not base what you watch off of angry "fans" still wining after years have past

Chris

Jar Jar is problematic at best, I just don't like all the hate Ahmed Best got from die-hard Star Wars fans that almost drove him to suicide. There were rumors about Jar-Jar actually being a Sith. The way he tripped and flailed around during the Naboo battle mimic the drunken baller fighting technique (Drunken Fist) since he actually took down droids and did some damage.

Chris

Ewan McGregor is amazing! During the time this Star Wars movie came out, I saw him and Cameron Diaz in an indie romantic/dark comedy film called "A Life Less Ordinary" and watched Trainspotting every couple of months just to get my "fix". He did make a very convincing Obi-Wan.

David L Pickard

Just curious, what do you dislike about it so much? I am first and foremost an OT fan, so there are elements I can see how people would dislike and there are things I don't love about it, but with as much knowledge of the old EU canon as well as the current canon, there is a ton about it that makes sense. The only thing I will not forgive is the Canto Byte side quest lol

Been waiting for you to start Star Wars again!!!

I had heard that Star Wars had brought some drama before, but over laughing? Those people really need to lighten up. Time for me to enrage most Star Wars fans and say I enjoyed this film and I actually think it had in general a better baseline storyline than the original films. Just it wasn't executed anywhere near as well so I can't say it is better much at all. The acting and dialogue in the original trilogy is just way beyond what was in this. I think Anakin was pretty well acted though. I am very hard to annoy so Jar Jar didn't annoy me but he did have way too much dialogue and screen time for his purpose- was also very difficult to understand. I think he was probably just there for kids since the film had no age restriction. I remember watching it when I was very young at school and everyone loved Jar Jar and would impersonate him for ages. I'm sure someone can correct me if I am wrong but I was thinking Anakin was too old to be trained as he had lived enough life to breed the seeds of emotions like anger and fear. I guess if you want a Jedi to never find the Dark Side then you need someone innocent to the world's horrors and familial ties before training them.

I like how you instantly recognized Warwick Davies outside of any costume, but you could not have known you where watching him all the time.. he was the young , green Rodian friend of Anakin. Warwick has had way more cameos in Star Wars than most people realize: https://www.inafarawaygalaxy.com/2016/04/how-many-cameos-has-warwick-davis-had.html
