This first page is a brilliant study in opposites. In the first frame, the upper class terrace houses providing a backdrop for the oh-so-polite adults, and the rambunctious children. Inside the house the fancy furniture and the beautiful illuminated roller blinds, contrasting with the clash of the door to Blanche's room. Then the next three panels, a teenaged hard rocker, quietly using a sewing machine. Finishing with an anguished yell from outside the room, interrupting the quiet calm of the sewing, in the final panel.
