This battle back in the day was a weird one for sure. So, Soul Eater and Sword Art Online are my very first true anime shows. It's been years since I've seen Soul Eater but I remember liking it, but barely remember anything about the show. Maybe one day you'll check it out and I'll watch along with you. If you think the Soul Eater moon is disturbing, wait until you see the Majora's Mask moon.

The new background is looking fresh

Soul Eater is a fun anime. We're still waiting for a Maka vs. Ruby Death Battle

It was pretty weird when this battle was announced. I know nothing of Soul Eater but I knew Crona had “shouting” powers. Seemed pretty one sided, especially when they went over the arsenal. But still a fun time. And yes anime is pretty weird, but pretty creative because of it. They have pretty much anything, sports anime, action anime, horror anime, “spicy” anime, etc. They even have weird concepts such as using literal guitars and fishing poles as weapons, having a single high schooler destroy majority of the world, and summing past heroes and mythological figures to help you fight. What a world.

Oh yeah. When Screwattack (Death Battle) and Rooster Teeth merged Ben and Chad (Wiz and Boomstick) asked the Monty Oum (the creator of RWBY) what battle he would like to see, which he responded with Ruby vs Maka. Ever since his death the Death Battle team have said they will do it in honor of him, but seem to be waiting for the right time to it, to make it as good as it can be.

Think you missed it and it wasn't really explained, but Crona is referred to as They/Them. I'm not sure if their biological sex was ever confirmed, but the implication is Medusa (their mother) didn't see them as her child at all, just a tool, so never referred to them one way or the other, like calling them 'it'.
