By Tamborined, Krillin is referring to King Picollo's minion named Tamborine that killed him in Dragon Ball. I think aura thing might be a mistake. It should be white when they're not super and yellow when they're super.

The aura thing with them is power level based. Super Saiyan and above usually are yellow. I believe Piccolo and Cell had yellow auras at one point as well, though I'm not specifically sure about Piccolo

Goku knowing he's not good at those types of conversations is character development to me!

Getting beaten up by Cell was a watershed moment for Vegeta. Vegeta does actually learn from his mistakes, and every time he gets beaten he goes off and trains to correct what led to him getting beaten, but when he does he tends to come back with the same ego he did before. After the fight with Cell, he mellows out considerable. He still has the same pride in himself (and Saiyans in general), but he's considerably less of an egomaniac after being humbled by Cell. It marked a significant turn in his character arc that would eventually be completed in the arc that follows this one (which, sadly, Abridged doesn't cover. But since you mentioned you're going to watch Kai, I won't go into detail).

Funny thing is, Mr Satan is legitimately the strongest human outside of the Z-Fighters. He's only seen a joke become Yamcha is stronger because of his training.

Two things I love about this episode in particular. 1. This episode is where Abridged Cell quickly started climbing the ranks of my Favorite Villains of All Time list. He has such a fun rapport with the heroes that I've rarely seen with any other villain. 2. The 3 people in that helicopter were actually anime exclusive characters who would stand there with Mr. Satan, basically becoming extentions of his "it's all a bunch of tricks" bit. They weren't in the original manga and, ultimately, contributed nothing. So Scott, the insane editor he is, killed them off here and edited them out of EVERY FUTURE SHOT! This mad lad seriously went through and, save for one small panning shot where they slipped through the cracks, made full, extensive edits to erase the 3 of them from the show. Kudos for dedication. Edit: Trunks having the Super Saiayn aura was an animation error.

Here's my early birthday gift! Yay!

EDIT : AH, my bad they are the PUBLISHING company behind the manga looks like Dunno if anyone already said but uh shueisha (sp?) is the animation company (i think?) for dragon ball SUPER which just goes to show how long DBZA went lol

Also the cat is Puar, Yamcha's best friend (who even if abridged DID have every thing not....abridged wasn't really IN a lot of Z, she's far more of a dragonball character lol)

I believe that Abridged Goku is still worried that Abridged Yamcha is going to hang himself like Abridged Trunks said he would in the Abridged future.

Vegeta was understandably afraid of Frieza and the Ginyu force after years of being with them; he had first-hand experience of their power. The same cannot be said about any of the androids or Cell, hence he figured he’d easily overpower them. That last fight with Cell was humbling, to say the least, and now Vegeta knows better than to brag around him.

Did you guys see the Vegeta Mustache video or are you waiting? Also (I don’t think y’all saw this comment before), are you picking up from the beginning or Buu Saga with Kai? I only finished the Cell Saga for it. Didn’t know Kai did the Buu Saga for a while. It’s so sad TFS couldn’t continue. Still holding out hope they get motivated again. Maybe after they finish reacting to it on their channel lol?

The Drama in this intro was intense! Seeing Ken trying to get his introduction right was so dramatic. So much drama. Lol! Also, Trunks aura was white. It looked Yellow because he was in the background of Goku's Aura. But if you see clearly when he arrives his aura is actually white.

Jennifer Sunderland

Cell has one, because he's literally a Super Saiyan. A lot of people seem to overlook that; but the yellow aura and the sound effect that accompanies it is used for SSJ and only for SSJ. Other characters have various different colors (Piccolo has white, like most of the heroes, except in his newest form, where his aura is orange), Frieza has purple, etc. The only characters given the golden aura and the distinctive "fwssh-fwssh-fwssh" sound effect are Super Saiyans. And Cell's biology means he can go SSJ.

definitelynotdefinitive

Damn that is some dedication with editing and must have taken forever to do 😳. And thanks for letting us know it was an error for trunks to have the same aura. 🙂

Not a problem. There are plenty of little things like that which pop up in the original series, though Scott is usually pretty good about covering them up in editing (one of my favorites being giving 18 her leggings which were forgotten about in a single shot of her fight against Vegeta). Yeah, he goes HARD in the editing. He was the sole editor for the entire show, only getting a little bit of extra edits done by Goku's VA, Lawrence Simpson and a few animators to make new facial expressions or new static shots of characters (like one you'll see of Vegeta in episode 60 that is SO well done, I didn't even realize it was a new shot until a friend pointed it out to me). Man was dedicated. He also doesn't turn off, as he and Nick (Vegeta's VA) have been doing Creator commentary over on their channel for the past several months and, during season 1, kept having to pause because of the painful hindsight of "I wish I'd done that" or "with what I could do now, this would be so much better."
