In the mid-90s, frequent travelers wanted laptops that were small and  light, but this often meant giving up a comfortable keyboard. But IBM  came up with a clever idea, and produced one of the most interesting --  and sought-after -- subnotebooks ever made.

Shame you weren't able to get it working, but hey, can't have everything go well I guess. Either way, great video, I really enjoyed it!

Is there a “cure” for the sticky coating issue…? I’ve several pieces of equipment that’ve begun to display this effect.. As you note, difficult to keep dust free…

Sadly I don't think there's a way to reverse it, from what I've read it's due to the coating breaking down. The only way to "fix" the problem is to remove the coating entirely, but that could change the appearance of the machine.
