Sony seems to be taking its anti-cross-platform gameplay policy up a notch by locking Fortnite accounts from use on other platforms; AT&T is allowed to buy Time Warner to create a media conglomerate Voltron; and Internet celebrities are no longer keeping quiet about Internet trolls.

One part I think I could add to is the Battlefield 5 fiasco, since it’s not just about women in games. Why the character was added in was kinda silly, but perfectly fine because the dev is the one working on it. However, I fall into the camp against the changes because it feels so unconvincing. Not because of female characters, but Churchill tanks rolling through houses at speeds they could never reach, planes flying ten feet above ground, trucks falling from bridges and crushing soldiers, V-1 rockets accurately striking targets, and a female amputee who was shot now bludgeoning a german pilot to death. I think they were targeting the MOBA crowd but it seems to have backfired. But if it were based on a true story, like the female tanker Mariya Oktyabrskaya who sold all of her possesions to donate a tank to the USSR and use it to fight the germans, I think it would have gone over much smoother. There were female russian soldiers in Battlefield 1 and no one seemed to care because it wasn’t rubbed in our faces.

I originally wrote two nights ago that I quit listening after the first topic. I came around tonight and listened to the rest.
