I personally like the new format, but wouldn't replace the old format with it entirely. What I think would work would be to have a show like this about once a month as a "scene overview" kind of thing, with single (other) topics in between. This gives a good amount of material to each "overview" episode (a month's worth) while the show length limits said show from covering everything out there, leaving some topics for the rest of the month. This approach might also gain more followers as the "overview" episodes would keep some followers from having to listen to some other podcasts for that kind of general news. Just a thought.
