Hey there Patrons!

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! There was a ton of really good art out there this year, unfortunately I didn't have anything prepared for it in time, but I was working on something that I'll post here later, so lets get into the summary!

It was a bit of an odd week this week. Blips of struggling to find productivity and creativity, but not due to stress or depression, just your standard fare "off days" in the art sense, mixed with myself and the housemates finally taking some time to address a lot of cleaning and organizing around the house that we've been putting off for years. So there's no completed pic this week unfortunately, but at least the reasons for it aren't all bad! Anyway, the more noteworthy piece this week is the Valentines themed pic of Angel I was working on. I wanted to give her a proper pass with a muscular body (since I'm done pretending people don't come to me for muscle art), and the last times I had drawn her beefy were really rough or figuring out just how her build would look. That said, I'm not ready to say that this will be her default muscle form moving forward, as I still want to dedicate more time to figuring out her nuances. She's been a character that's been in my roster for a long time (and even has a good bit of lore attached to her), but I've never really taken the time to explore her character apart from just "filling gaps" in various kink content.

I also held a poll on Twitter to see who folks would want to see in a specific Year of the Dragon/Lunar New Year themed piece, and Onyx was the winner for that! Missed the day on that one too (it's almost like it's a trend or something), but there's a whole year to celebrate it, so I'll chipping away at that piece over the next few weeks between commissions and things.

Speaking of commissions, there was some minor progress on a handful of pieces, and not all of them are pictured here, namely because most of it was discussions and reference material gathering, figuring out color swatches for a client's new character, and not a whole lot of "presentable" sketches. But of the presentable sketches, there's some new body builds for a piece for Violet Neon! They had wanted their big shark to be even bigger, so I came up with a couple builds for them to review, which turned into more of the aforementioned discussions.

And to close out, a handful of warmup of different topics! Keeping with Fanart February, I wanted to at least tackle some new characters I hadn't before, so I sketched out a really rough Susie and Noelle from Deltarune, partly because I wanted to see how a first go at them in my style would look. I'm happy with how Susie came out but I definitely need to work on Noelle. Also a bonus Toriel because Goat Mom is Best Mom. And then there were a bunch of sketches done as possible planning pieces for other works. I was of the mindset that Kiyoko should star as the primary Year of the Dragon poster girl, but after doing some research and finding out that Japan actually doesn't celebrate Lunar New Year like most other Asian countries, it felt like that putting it to a vote was the better option, hence the pic of Onyx! That said I'll probably still do YOTD pics of all my main dragon characters, just for fun. There were also some prelim sketches that influenced the Valentine's pic as well!

Okay, that's all for me this week! I'm gonna get back to cleaning and organizing. If you have a three day weekend this week (it's President's Day in the US so a lot of folks here have the day off), I hope you enjoy it and get all the extra rest or relaxation you need! And for everyone else, I hope your week is a good one for you, and that you enjoyed your weekend! As always, thank you all for your support! Until next time!
