Hey there Patrons! Hope you're having a great weekend so far!

Gonna try and keep this one short since there's not a lot to show from a numbers standpoint, so let's get right into it!

Two big ticket items this week, as I finished the Riptide commissions for both VioletNeon and Zenronaut! More big sharks are always a good thing, and I had a lot of fun working on both of them! Very happy with how Sarina came out in VioletNeon's piece in particular, the way that her hair is being shaped by her newly enlarged body, and how that top is only barely hanging on for dear life!

That all being said, the small amount of drawings from a numbers perspective is wholly due to the ongoing situation where my inkwork is taking an exceptionally long time. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I got both of those pieces done and I'm very happy with the end result, but as I keep poking and prodding to figure out why there's such a time discrepancy, I'm coming to the realization that I'm going to have to change some things moving forward.

Quickly touching base on last week's Snapshot where I outlaid the plans for the rest of the month, with the inks and stuff taking as much time as they have been, I'm already looking at not making those goals unless I settle for looser quality linework for completed pieces, or just forgo the original plan of getting the amount of pieces completed before the end of the month. I might experiment with looser quality linework for the Halloween pieces to see if I can come up with a version that I'm happy with that doesn't take a ton of work.

Segueing into the rest of the update and using that as a jumping off point, the linework for CJ's kobold might be a good starting point on how to get faster lines. Again this turned out to be a case of using a different brush, and while a huge factor to the faster linework is the lack of detail (i.e. muscle definition), even areas like the head and hair were still relatively quick by comparison. I have a few other brushes I want to try out though, so those might make an appearance for the Halloween  pics. But I'm getting off track. CJ's kobold, who's name is Syrup, is proving to be a refreshing reminder of how much I love designing and drawing kobolds. She's eventually going to be a lot slimier, as she's a slime kobold, and that will play into her ability to grow bigger in various ways! More on that will be coming as the designs and art are finished, so look forward to a more detailed breakdown on that later!

Lastly we've got the concept sketches for the Halloween pieces. With Onyx being the clear favorite and a majority of folks wanting her even bigger, I figured I'd go with a Kaiju/Godzilla themed piece! Onyx's design will invoke some pretty obvious Godzilla themes in the form of back/tail spikes, but the rest is going to be more original concept. The overall picture is going to try and replicate some of the movie posters for Godzilla 2024, namely one I saw for the Japanese market where the concept was more artistic, with buildings in the foreground and a very minimalist background that focused on framing and silhouetting the kaiju. I might also do some cheezy movie poster text to go with it if I can come up with a fun way to combine kaijus and Halloween. Maybe Onyx is wearing a cursed Kigu that turns her into a real kaiju!

And for the Fanart Halloween pic, the concepts are a little more straightforward! Loona being the winner, the obvious choice of werewolf is right there, and it satisfies a lot of what I think folks want, which is big girl being bigger and beefier! I had a couple poses and thumbnails I was deciding between, but I think I'm going to go with one where she's breaking a tree as she's coming out of a clearing, something that'll give the mixed scary/sexy vibes of seeing a monster emerge into view while also having a clear display of her strength, and putting her body front and center.

Alright, that'll do it for me this week. Still have a lot of work to do before the month is up, and as much as I want to write more in this post, writing isn't drawing! As always, thank you all so much for your support! I hope your weekend is relaxing and restful, and that you have a wonderful week!
