Rebecca would awaken to the smell of gasoline, cuffed to Elizabeth on one wrist and a radiator behind them. "W-Wha...what are you..doing...?" she asked weakly, the man pouring gasoline around the office before flinging the can into the hallway as Elizabeth started coming around.

“Exactly what I came here to do...To get rid of the nightmares I've had since that night...To finally have some peace and fucking quiet...”

"You said one way to get rid of them is by letting them have their revenge?" he scoffed. "Nah, I've found another way. I just need to finish the job."

Elizabeth groaned as she glared upwards at the man. "So you're going to burn the rest of this place down...?"

"W-With us inside it...?!" Rebecca pulled at her cuffs, trying to get free.

"Shouldn't have gone snooping. Of all my fucking luck...today would be the day two bitches decided to go poking around...Police are just gonna think you two were arsonists who got caught in their own flames. Your own paper will interview me and I'll get a nice little royalty bonus for it. Another fire at the Windview?! Oh, it's a perfect story for them to run...and you know it."

He turned his attention to Rebecca. "And the symbols you drew will be enough to protect me from these assholes so I can escape and get on with my life. Where I'M back in control!" He laughed. Kneeling down by her, taking the woman's lighter from her pocket.

"So...it was you...! All those years ago?! You caused the fire!? For a bloody insurance payout!?" Elizabeth hissed towards Darren, tugging at the cuffs that bound her.

"Congratulations Miss Reed, you've finally figured it out! It was ME! The thing is, you make more money in this country by bending the law than you get for good, honest work! And your paper gave me the perfect cover! I was being 'harassed' by some punks who held a vendetta against me and my brand. No one would've thought to investigate me! No one...but you. So now, I get to kill two birds with one stone."

"D-Don't do this! Please!" Rebecca begged to deaf ears. "I'll be kind. I'll give you enough time to say goodbye to each other. He commented as he left the room. Whistling into the distance.

Rebecca quickly glanced towards Elizabeth, a look of hopelessness painted her face. Then it dawned on her. If she could reach the revenants, they might be able to help. She closed her eyes and started chanting in the mysterious tongue once more.
