All characters presented in this image are fictional, 18 years and older, and the acts depicted in this image are consensual to the individuals involved.

The whole set seems to be safe posting it all here as well so here we go! Alright, the first image of the Roserade/Pollinated set is done! Really can’t wait to start working on the others. I’ll be honest, the simpler an image, the more picky and indecisive I am with its lighting and mood. I tried variations like pink which I felt helped compliment her color scheme, however when I started thinking the entire set containing mostly pink (for the sake of consistency), it kind of eliminated the “mood” of what is to come which I disliked. I tried exploring many different lighting passes until I finally came down with a high contrast with an obscure light cast. I felt the lighting of positive and negative space helped with your eyes going through the contours of her shape, emphasized off color shots like her eyes and eye shadow.

Plus it’s fun doing lighting conditions like this! I usually try to not tamper too much with lighting, mostly because i become too hesitant and doubtful since I want to show the “whole” of the image which is a great hindrance of mine amongst other things. Onto the structural choices/character design, I’ve always wanted to do Roserade for quite some time but I couldn’t suffice with a design I was happy to work with. Removed her collar, wings, and added a bit of a hair-esque like blend on her face that was inspired by another artists rendition of Roserade which I believe goes by the name of “Plantpenetrator”? someone please correct me if I’m wrong on that haha. Another aspect of the design that was hard to be decisive on was making her have a belly button or not, her roses to either actually looking like roses or whatever shape they had originally, and subtle or noticeable areolas/nips.

Finally ended up with this and hope you guys like c: will be working on the next ones as soon as possible! and yes for those wondering, I am going to be working on the Ruby comic still c:
