My memory of this season is apparently garbage. I thought the events taking place were episode 6 or 7. they burn thru plot like nothing else on this show.

I agree this episode was hard to watch. The choices all the characters made were correct given the thought process and their arcs to this point but disobeying Spartacus when he isn't around but stepping back when the man shows up. Those other rebels just wanted to kill defenseless people. At least crixus was ready to fight Spartacus for a bit before he got held back.

I understand Crixus POV, but I also get Spartacus view. He's drawing a clear line. Let's not become the Romans. Maybe it's a foolish thought, but it's the right one. Though, I would just kick them out of the city. Don't feed them and force them out. Let them be Crassus problem to solve. Keeping them as hostages likely won't be worth much in comparison to the city itself.

I agree that if you're not going to kill them then you have to throw them outta the city! You can't keep them there taking away food from your mouths or as we see leave them around to where they can cause trouble for you!! And I remember thinking when I was watching this episode and the 1 b4 it that Navia gotta go!!! If Crixus can't keep her in line and instead allows her to constantly cause division between him and Spartacus then someone gotta put her out her misery! I was so hoping Gannicus would do it.
