Ninaofthe90s

One of my favorite soundtracks ever. I listen to it all the time, even though it makes me cry regularly.

I'm also like...the biggest Mel Gibson fan ever lol. I own every movie he ever made. Everything he starred in and everything he directed. Or both - like this one. I just love him so much. As a filmmaker and as an actor. He's also one of the most beautiful men on earth to me, especially in the 90s and 80s 😍 I'm sorry - but it had to be said 😂😂 This masterpiece won 5 oscars. Including best picture and best director for Mel. So deserved. Angus Macfadyen as Robert the Bruce had in my opinion the strongest performance in this movie and was completely overlooked by the most. Sadly you didn't mention him either at the end.

hm...the love story was one of the strongest parts of the movie for me...I'm still not over Murron's death. Never will be. The first hour was amazing, even though entirely different ❤ Mel was 38 when he made this movie btw not in his late 40s 😂 which is still fitting, Wallace was 35 years old when he was executed.

Nothing quite like the pipes, love the soundtrack - up there with gladiator

This film is great, a classic blockbuster that rightfully won best picture and got Mel Gibson his first best director award. It did very well at the 68th Oscars, winning five awards including cinematography, makeup and sound effects editing.

You two might also be interested in checking out Robert the Bruce, a spin off film to Braveheart with Angus Macfadyen reprising his role as Robert the Bruce. Anyway thanks for the reactions guys, take care and peace.

wallace was emasculated and disembowelled at the end. We just didn't see it. (to answer dummy's question). Then he was beheaded and quartered.

Ninaofthe90s

that movie was godawful. Even though MacFadyen gave the best performance in Braveheart. The Robert The Bruce movie was terrible!

''That's what it was, they switched actresses on me'' lmao

Great movie. Not very historically accurate, but a GREAT film. Take it from the late, great GOAT, Patrice O'Neal: https://youtu.be/OEUp0RtSTSM

when Robert the Bruce cries " I dont want to lose heart! I want to believe as he did" is possibly my favorite moment in anything I have ever watched

Jimmy if you watch GOT's Battle of Bastards now, you'll see how many shots were used from Braveheart. Also not sure y'all noticed old man was Lord Commander Mormont. And if you've not seen The Patriot with Mel, you def should add to your list. Set around Revolution and the story and action sequences are some of my fav.
