I hope they end the series strong. FYI, Garrett was played by Bill Paxton's son in this episode.

While Garrett may have been a little over the top, I do think that it was pretty accurate that he would be a pompous jerk like that, especially in his younger years. As commented above, he was played by Bill Paxton's son James. I think there will always be some disconnect when having another actor play the "younger/older version" of a character. I'm very back and forth on Nathaniel as well. Sometimes he seems pretty intimidating, and I like his confidence. Other times, he sounds whiny, and his talk of anarchy always sounds cheesy. It seems like there's a lot to resolve in the final three episodes, but I'll trust the writers to have come up with a satisfying ending.

pretty sure he was on Elizabeth Henstridge's live watch along and specifically said he'd gone back and watched his dad IN AOS, to directly mimic his facial actions and over-the-toppedness. he's 100% a young Garrett.
