Lena Headey ❤❤❤ She has always been my favorite actress from Game of thrones - and she's splendid here as well.

Judge Dredd wasn't terrible. It's good old fashioned camp action and done pretty well.

The movie was marketed as a gimmick 3D movie in a sea of terrible 3D movies trying to get in on the craze. It was even called Dredd 3D. It was a huge marketing fail and only after it's run did people realize there's a good movie here. I'd have loved to see the sequels, but it's not gonna happen.

Dredd is a great action movie, an adaption worthy of it's source material. Karl Urban radiating all that charisma, menace and authority despite only having his mouth visible the entire film. Olivia Thirlby of Juno fame, playing against type as Anderson, the heart and conscience of the film, she is a very sympathetic character but no slouch when it comes to fighting. Her progression throughout the film is great, she convinces this stoic and rigid wall of a man to change his mind.

Lena Headey is amazing as Ma-Ma, a villain who doesn't need to be loud or boisterous or smug. She is quietly terrifying, her anger slowly increases throughout the film but she never needs to shout or rage, just casually committing acts of horrendous violence and cruelty, which is more scary as she is desensitized to it all, not even that worried when Dredd foils her plans, she is pretty much is just waiting if someone is tough enough to kill her.

Wood Harris is also pretty entertaining as Kay, playing a amusing scumbag and the head dirty Judge Lex is played by Langley Kirkwood, who was Colonel Stowe aka Major Terminator on Banshee S3. This movie has become a favourite of mine over the years, shame that a sequel was never made. Though not through lack of trying, Karl Urban said he love to play Dredd again but there's been no opportunity, though I heard plans of making a Dredd tv series, not sure when since he is busy with The Boys.

Anyway I'm glad Jimmy that you and Cash enjoyed the movie, it doesn't disappoint. Take care and looking forward to the series finale reaction of Deadwood, peace.

While it was marketed as such, it should be noted that the film was shot entirely using 3D cameras and actually looks fantastic in 3D which IMO is why there is such a huge disconnect in the first ~30 minutes for most first time home viewers. The film is showcasing that and it is lost on anyone not watching in 3D which is most everyone. It looks good in any dimension but all of those slo-mo shots are mesmerizing in that format. The fact the movie kicks ass just makes it that much better.
