ooooh this is so exciting 😍😍😍 Great episode. Love Finch and Root working "together". And Nathan's number coming up right when Harold shutting the whole thing down. That's just horrible. Nathan is more humane in this scenario than Harold. Which is why I always liked him. Like he's Harold conscience. And today Harold is more like Nathan. The Finch we know today would never sacrifice one person for the greater good. And since you've already seen the next episode - or if not - spoiler alert for ep. 22! He had to learn it the hard way. I guess it's always different when it's personal.

Speaking of nerdy film student references, this episode is full of references to Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest." Ernest Thornhill is named for the main character of that movie, which has a similar plot to this episode in which multiple agencies are trying to assassinate or save a man who turns out not to exist. Nolan had already put a spin on another Hitchcock movie, Rear Window, with the Season 1 episode where they investigate the apartment super and Reese is in a wheelchair.
