Recommendations: Moving Backwards by Wheel (Patreon)

I tweeted about not fully clicking with TOOL, yet getting into several groups they clearly inspired.

This album was my catalyst for that.

The long songs with their long build ups and long riffs mean that it's still not an album I instinctively go to, but the times I do, I find myself slipping into another world. Almost everything on this album, from the vocals to the guitars has this ability to seamlessly transition from beautiful to heavy.

And when I'm not in the mood for a 48 minute traversal to that other world...

I just boot up opening track Vultures because it fuckin slaps.
