"Why do you love Black Lagoon so much?"

One question asked in the midst of a vast conversation about a variety of topics over the course of hours, was enough for me to wrap an entire conclusion around in a video.

Years ago, I made a video exploring the combat dialogue in Multiplayer because of a Youtube comment. I asked myself about Immersion because of a couple matches on Gears of War. King Kong was explored after Sparky bugged me on Discord. Even these last few days, my imagination's been distracted with another topic generated by comments on Twitter. Part of my mind, living, and profession has been furthered because of a couple innocuous events and words.

The value of brainstorming is both priceless and worthless, the ratio of which depends on the results that come from them. It's easy to think that the former stem from ideas that lead to superb results, and the latter as ideas that never got off the ground, but I'm not so sure it's that simple.

Apologies if this sounds too much like Dr. Philcevick, but the scripts or paragraphs I've deleted aren't pitfalls but the stepping stones required for better results. It's only through failure that you have the context of success is. I've had ten years of feeling utterly disappointed with a video the day following its release, that I'm still processing what it's like to be pleased with my work, it's quite an alien sensation.

I've realized this post doesn't really amount to a grand point, or even follow a coherent path, but I guess this is a glimpse into what my mind is like unfiltered. How my mind is consistently inconsistent, jumping from topic to topic, and why its a challenge to focus them into a linear script, but it's a satisfying challenge.

If there's anything to take away from this is a lesson I'm trying to relearn, don't discount things that are seemingly insignificant. Chats on Discord, movies with friends, reading a book, or walks in the morning can be what leads to something that defines you.

All of this coming from a Man using a Dickbutt on Twitter.
