Cawing, crying, and calling out for his love
Promises whispered like rhymes with no words
Falling, raining, down from high above
Oh dreams, oh night sky, oh wandering wills
What if anything would you do to be together
If only he could hear the night bird’s song?
Could it change his heart?
If only he knew that he’d waited so long?
Would they ever be apart?

His eyes are like stars in the dark
His smile concealed by shadow
Inside a light from his heart
A path to lead and follow
In time perhaps that light can change the dimming of the day
Perhaps a rhyme in time can lead back a heart astray
